I can see that this issue has been discussed for several years now, and I have read the recommendations --- but no matter what I do, my resolution is poor. It just seems that it shouldn't be this difficult.
I have to record a website that demo's several features. The text is very small. My Story file is 16:9. If I record "just to 16:9" - the resolution is great, yet, it captures just about 25% of the actual web site. I then have expanded the size trying various sizes.
I don't recall having this issue before. I did submit a ticket, BTW

Have you increased your slide size?

To get a good screen capture you slidesize should match you capture area the default slide size is too small,
