Responsive eLearning design

Mar 18, 2014

So recently I created a website in HTML 5.0 and CSS with Bootstrap so it responded to the which ever device it was being accessed on. e.g. Mobile phone, tablet and desktop. The design took on the principle "mobile first" which basically mean we designed the website where the priority was to make it look good on a mobile and then used css to make elements respond as the size of the screen the site was being access through.

My question is, what options do we have in making our eLearning modules follow the same path? ie. so that they respond to the type of device it is being accessed through

Hi Stuart,

Currently Storyline is not set up for a responsive design element, and is not supported on Android devices. There are some new articles and tutorials posted here about publishing for HTML5 and some things to keep in mind as you design your course. There is one section on the bottom specific to "What You Need to Know About HTML5 for Mobile Devices" that may be of use.  There is also a discussion in the forums linked within this article about the best story size for iPad/iPhone deployment.

Hope that helps get you started! You're also welcome to share your thoughts on Android support or responsive design in the form of a feature request.
