Restrict navigation to require Quizzes

Jun 03, 2013

Hi Articulate!

I have a question about restricting slides in Storyline.

In a few of our courses we want to have Free navigation for the content slides of the course.

But at the same time, we want to be able to Restrict, the quizzes of the course to require the users to complete them before they can complete the course.

Are there settings in the Player that can do that?

I only see settings for Free, Restricted and Locked for all slides.

Can I customize navigation settings on individual slides to require some to be Free but others must be completed?

THANKS!

Hi David!

Is your primary concern navigation in the player menu, or through the navigational ("Next" and "Previous") buttons?

You won't be able to adjust single-slide or section settings in the player options, but you may be able to customize how the menu appears in the question slides, if the menu is your primary concern.

On the question slides, you should be able to open the Player Properties (by clicking on the cog wheel icon for the base layer) and selecting the "Custom for the select slides" option under the "Player features" section. Here, you can un-check the menu option. This way, the menu won't even display on the question slide. You can also disable the "Next" and "Previous" buttons from this window, if they're enabled and you'd like to remove them.

Just a couple thoughts that may help :) Let me know if this works for you, or if you're trying to accomplish something different.

Thanks!
