Results Slide results changing after review done

Mar 18, 2014

Hi,

I'm experiencing some strange behaviour with one of my storyline files.

When I complete the exam I get to the results slide and get a score of 15% I then review the results and get a score of 30% shown on the results slide.

I've also seen (on this file) although not replicated since, that the review showed a question being marked as incorrect  (the message at the bottom of the screen) when the ticks against the correct answers showed the question as being correct.

Does the results slide get populated from the LMS database or does the Database get updated once the result slide is shown??

I basically need to understand how the results stored and calculated and who i need t direct to fix this issue (the author or the lms developers).

Thanks in advance.

Richard

Hi Richard,

For the question slides itself it sounds like you'll need to check the revisiting properties and ensure you have them set to "Resume saved state" so that when you revisit the slide on review the answers are kept. The results slide should send the results to your LMS once you visit the results slide if that is how you're tracking the course completion as described here.

If you're still having difficulty with it, could you share the .story file with us?

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for the quick response.

The issue is actually when I reach the results slide it give me one score and then when I get to the results slide for a second (following a review of my answers) the score shown is different. (15% on first view of the results slide and 30% following a review).

Is this an issue with content or the lms?

Kind Regards

Hi Richard,

No worries on the delay!

I took a look at your file, and everything behaved normally in preview so I also published it and placed it on SCORM Cloud here which is an industry standard for testing SCORM Content and again, everything behaved normally.

In regards to the "green checkmark" that is a feature within your Edit Results slide -> Options to allow you to show the user the correct/incorrect feedback while reviewing. I saw the green checkmark next to the correct answers, and my answers were shown with the blue of the radio button or selection state of the boxes still there.

My score stayed the same throughout the review process - so can you test that version and let me know how it behaves for you?
