Results slides un selecting when editing a module

Mar 14, 2019

Hi, ive been working on a very large elearning project which has 12 modules. Due to the multiple reviewers and many changes needed. Ive found that every time I change even the smallest of things on a slide that has nothing to do with a quiz that the results slide unticks quiz questions? Is this a known bug? Or are there work arounds to resolve this issue. Its driving me nuts!

Hi Elizabeth,

It doesn't sound like a familiar bug to me. You mentioned sharing the file back and forth between reviewers, and it's possible that's the culprit.

When sharing and collaborating on a file, you'll want to make sure everyone has downloaded and opened that file locally vs. accessing it and making changes while it's opened from a network or shared drive. The latter is known to cause odd behavior (like boxes randomly being unchecked) and could ultimately lead to corruption.

Also, if other folks have edited the file, were you checking before you made any edits that the question hadn't already been inadvertently unselected by a colleague?

Let me know if any of that sounds plausible, and we can keep troubleshooting from there!

Hi Ashley,

Thanks so much for replying.

Yes we do follow the practice of saving locally etc, we learnt that the hard way at the beginning.

For example, someone reviews the module through the review link. Identifies a red box is out of alignment. I open up the file locally, fix the box and save. Then the results slide unticks the box. So when its click tested the quizzes don't work properly. And this happens 90% of the time. We don't even go near a quiz or a results slide.

Cheers,

Liz

Hey Liz,

That's definitely strange – it would drive me nuts, too!

With your permission, we can take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. We'll delete it when we're done troubleshooting. If that works for you, you can upload your file privately to our support team here. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
