Resume - limited time

Feb 26, 2020

Hi,

If one user views a storyline presentation and then another user comes back later on the same computer with the same browser and views the same storyline presentation, they are asked if they want to resume where they left off even if they weren't the one who used the storyline presentation in the first place.

Short of simply turning off the resume feature, is there a way to make the cookies expire 3 days after they are made? I'm assuming that's not a feature in storyline directly, but I imagine a bit of code could be injected in the files post-publishing.

Hi Corinn,

It sounds like this course is hosted on the web instead of an LMS, is that correct? If multiple users are using the same computer/link/browser to access a course, I'd recommend selecting the option to never resume so that it starts from the beginning each time the course is revisited.

We don't support Javascript, but hopefully someone in the community can chime in with any experience they have using code for this specific situation!

Thank you for your reply.

That is correct, We had reliability issues with publishing to SCORM, so we switched to an embedded web player instead. We're now switching platforms entirely.

It looks like we'll be republishing all of our projects again, so perhaps switching to never resume will be better. I just to like the idea of someone losing a connection halfway (or most of the way through) a 10 minute activity and having to start over from scratch.
