Returning actual quiz score into Moodle

Dec 09, 2014

Hi! Have tried to find information on this to no avail.  What we are attempting to do is simply create a quiz in Storyline 2, (let's say the quiz is worth 10 points in Moodle and in the Scorm package), have the student take the quiz, and have the actual number of points appear in the Moodle gradebook.

Alternately, have the package return a % to Moodle and Moodle then weight the quiz value accordingly.  i.e.  Student score an 80% on the quiz, and in moodle the quiz is set to 10 points... and thus records 8 points.

Currently we are using the activity in Moodle set to Learning Objects.. which gives them all the points or nothing... because Storyline reports 0 or 1 (pass or fail).

We have gotten close.. but it seems if a student takes it again... or leaves midway and returns at another time to resume it keeps adding to previous score in Moodle.

Is this possible or are we asking too much?

Hi David,

I'm not well versed in how Moodle will report scores, but Storyline can only track by a results slide (and therefore report the percentage score) or by number of slides viewed (and therefore the user either completes or doesn't) as detailed here.

Have you reached out to Moodle to see if there is a particular setting you need to use to accomplish this?
