returning to layer not slide
Oct 08, 2013
I think I have seen this answer before but cannot find it in the forum.
I have a project with scenes. The first slide sends the user to a layer. The layer links them to a 2nd slide. One slide goes to a particular scene. When that scene ends, the link should take the user to the 2nd slide and the link should take them back tot he first slide.
The problem I am having is that whatever I link to the first slide, I land on the layer not the base slide. None of that makes sense to me. I have tried changing the When revisiting but that has not worked. I have tried linking in different ways and even using variable. Nothing has worked.
The forum seems to have problems today. When I do a search on any word it says not found and I could not upload my story file.

Thanks Michael for sharing that link for Jeffrey.
Jeffrey, in regards to the search feature, I've heard a few reports of it today (but haven't experience it myself). You could use this method described by Adrian:
If you're having difficulty loading your file into the forums, it may be a size issue as well. You're welcome to share it with us as a Support case too.
I ended up solving my original problem by changing the navigation. The change was a better solution for the flow of the course.
I ran into this again and one of the reply's above made me realize that the learner is seeing the last item visited in this case a layer. In fact, the slide is showing both the base and layer text in a real mashup!
I set the slide to Reset to Initial State and that does what I want.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks Jeffrey for the update!
Is it possible to link an object on a slide in one scene to a layer on a slide in a different scene?
Hi Sylvia! Not directly, but you could accomplish with the use of variables and this thread will provide the best assistance on this.
