Same Activity ID's for Different SL Exams

Hello All!

We are interested in using the same Activity ID on all our courses. It's would be a ficticious ID http://id

Why, you ask?
If we create version 1 of an exam with id = http://ID_number_one
And we create version 2 of the same exam with id = http://ID_number-two and upload it over the original file in our LMS, it causes problems with the TIN CAN reporting. So, different versions of the same course do need to have the same Activity ID.

But, we thought, is there any harm in simplifying this and making the Activity ID the exact same ID for all exams? We also found that this is what Storyline does naturally if you use an existing exam as the foundation for a new exam. It keeps the same Activity ID. We've been doing this for years and we haven't seen to run into any problems with using the same Activity ID for different exams, but I don't fully understand Activity ID's and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. 

Any thoughts?
