Save variable when revisited course
Jun 18, 2018
Hi, community!
I need help so much!
Are there any possibles to save value of variable when user closes browser window with course and then wants to open course again?
I use publish settings "prompt to resume" and "when running in LMS, ignore flash cookie". All slides have settings "when revisiting resume to save state", but it doesn't help. When I restart course and click on "Yes" to answer the question "Would you like to resume where you left off?", all variables are reset, but I need to save them.
Have you any ideas to save values of variable when restart course? May be I should use any java script? But in this case I don't actually know how.
I will be glad to any help.
Thanks.

Hi Anastasiya,
When you resume the course, are the variables you lost on the last slide you visited, or on previous slides?
Variables on previous slides should be saved when you resume content in a LMS, however, the value of the variable on the current slide won't be saved.
Let me know if that answers your question!
Hi Alyssa.
Thank you for answer. I was afraid that someone would say so ((( yes, I need to save the value of the variable on the current slide. If this is impossible with stock storylines' options, may be someone has ideas how to customise this function with java script or something like this?
You cannot do it with javascript, you could add a save button on the slide that jumps to another slide and back again which would then save the value when you close
Ok, I see what you mean. But this doesn't work if user close course window in LMS with close button on browser, does it? are there any possibles to set JS or any trigger on this browser button to collect variable in LMS?
