Saving Timeline Position on Window Close in Storyline 360

Sep 28, 2021

I have a slide that plays an .MP4 video, and have set "Resume Saved State" for that slide.  When I navigate to other slides and back, it resumes where I left off as expected.  When, however, I play for another minute and exit the course, the slide, when visited, resumes at the point saved from when I had last navigated to another slide, losing that minute.

Is there a way to save that point on exit similar to how it's saved on navigating to another slide?

The state of the slide with the video won't be saved again until the learner moves to another slide. Here's a workaround you might find helpful:

  1. Change the player's behavior, so it returns the learner to where they left off.
  2. Create a "Save" button on the same slide as the video. That button should take them to another slide, which will save their progress if they close the course.

Let me know if you have any questions on those steps!
