Scenario linked to multiple scenes
Jun 14, 2017
Hello, is there a simple way to have a scene set as a remediation and then remember where to return the user when the remediation is done? For example, Scene: How to Boil Water, Link inside to scene: Choosing the Right Pot. Another scene: How to Steam Vegetables, inside: link to How to Boil Water. I want the Next button or created button to return the user to whatever scene they were viewing before. Previous Scene isn't working for me. Any expertise?

Can you set a variable when the user begins, say "sceneOrigin", then check for the value of that variable within your next button trigger? You would need a separate trigger for each possible scene that you could return to, so this might not be a great solution if you have a very large number of scenes.
Hi Maurice,
What version of Storyline are you using? Are you using the built in previous button - as that would return the user to the previous slide?
Michael's idea is another good one - but as he mentioned it could be a lot to set up.
If you want to share an example of your course here, that may help others think through and play around with some ideas for you! Upload a copy using the "add attachment" button below.
Thanks, I will explore variables, not my strong point!
Thanks so much. Upon looking at the references with clear eyes, I didn't have more than one links to the same scene. I would, however, like to learn how to do that smoothly.
Want to share a copy of your .story file here Maurice? That way others in the community could take a look and chime in.
