SCORM to Moodle Quiz Results

Jul 21, 2020

Hello, I wonder can someone help me…

I have recently created an assessment / quiz in Storyline Articulate which I have exported in SCORM format (tried both SCORM 1.2 and 2004) and uploaded it successfully to our LMS (Moodle).

However, following delegate completion of the assessment / quiz within Moodle we have been unable to generate a report that provides the respondents specific responses to each of the assessment / quiz questions asked. (For audit purposes)

The report available to us currently only provides information on whether or not they have got the assessment / quiz questions correct / incorrect, along with the score.

Is there a way we can obtain the specific response details such as the free text they have typed or the selections they have made so we can provide evidence if challenged or audited?

Further Information: Most of our quiz slides are ‘free form – pick one’ with triggers adding values. For example, a question could be worth two points, so if the delegate selects the right two answers, the value 2 box will highlight, and 2 points will be recorded. On the ‘track details,’ it only lists the 2 points as the learner response, and not the answer that they select (please see screenshot). We used the triggers as our workaround for not being able to score ‘per choice’ on a multiple-choice question on Storyline, but now it seems its created issues with the tracking details in Moodle.

Hi Kayla!

You should see this information in the report from your LMS.

Here is a list of the quiz data sent from Storyline:

  • id: Storyline sends a series of data to identify the Scene#, the QuestionDraw# (if applicable), and the Slide# in that particular scene or question draw.
  • type: This is the type of question (True/False, Multiple Choice, Multiple Response, etc).
  • student_response: This is how the learner answered the question.
  • correct_response: This is the correct answer for the question.
  • result: This designates whether the learner answered the question correctly or not.
  • weighting: Storyline doesn't use this item. It'll always be 1.
  • latency: This is how long it took the learner to answer the question.
  • objective: Storyline doesn't use this item. It'll always be 0.

Is it possible for you to pull a different report from Moodle?

I'm happy to test your course on my end if you prefer. You can attach it to this discussion or send it privately. Either way, I'll take a look and let you know what I find!
