SCORM variable handling/custom manipulation?
Apr 15, 2013
Hi,
I'm test driving Articulate Storyline for my organization and first, let me say, excellent product. Storyline is far more intuitive and produces a much better product than say, Lectora.
However, I've hit a snag in development. I need to be able to control the completion variables so that they will report to our LMS and display:
Percent Complete as 100 (which I believe comes from cmi.core.lesson.status)
Score as 100% (which I believe comes from cmi.core.score.raw)
Item Status as Completed (which I believe comes from cmi.success_status)
Right now the only way that I've been able to make this happen is by including a quiz & results slide in the course...but I would prefer to use the SCORM Tracking option that sets completion based on the number of slides viewed (rather than a test, since this course does not require a test). We build a lot of courses that don't require a test, but we need to report all three of the above variables as "Passed, Completed, and 100%" for report purposes.
I've browsed through the published files to see if I can figure out how to manipulate those variable through JavaScript executed from a trigger in Storyline, but I haven't had any success.
I'm currently publishing to SCORM 1.2 (although 2004 is an option as well).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Mike

Anybody have any idea how to access and set the completion variables other than using the default publishing options?
