Screen glitch when you click on button

Apr 26, 2018

Hi,

I've had courses from before, working perfectly fine - no bugs. I needed to make some updates to my courses and saved and published again. When I went to check I've got some weird glitch on the screen when I click Next button.

See the screen recording - https://drive.google.com/file/d/11dsTuWEHqrM7gB91ZGajksuIFEi5y-0L/view

I cannot fix this issue since it didn't exist before - it was all fine. This is quite urgent 'cause I need my courses to work fine like before.

Hi guys. Thanks for replying.

@Trevor - yes. screen jumping is the issue I'm facing.

Leslie, I'm using Storyline 360 - latest version (v3.15.15581.0). I'm experiencing this issue in Google Chrome and IE11, but not in Firefox.

This is not something that can be caused by the way we implemented our courses, because it was all fine before (they are already in use). I needed to make an update (with the latest version of storyline 360) and this is what I get after publish.

Hi Sky,

I know of an issue where a slide shakes or blinks before jumping to the next slide when viewing the HTML5 content using Internet Explorer 11, but it sounds like you're seeing this when clicking a button and in Chrome and IE11. Do you know if it's the latest version of Chrome, ver 66?

Also, could you share a copy of your .story file here with us so that we can take a look?

Hi Ashley,

Yes, I have the latest version of Chrome. I've tried different scenarios by changing everything with NEXT button and discovered what is the issue.

The problem was in the position of the NEXT button. Refer to this image: https://imgur.com/a/2h9nB3J - button was one part out of the slide frame and by clicking the button after the publish, it pushes the whole screen to show the 'missing part' of the Next button. I've tried moving the button inside the slide frame (refer: https://imgur.com/a/iWkz201 ) and the bug with screen glitch was gone.

I'm glad that I was able to find the cause for this, but it will be hard for me to change this button throughout 5 different courses with more than 40 slides in each. I'm hoping that this can be fixed, since I had no issues with this in previous versions of Storyline 360.

Please share your thoughts on this one.

Thanks.

Hi Sky.  Thanks for the clues!  I need a little more help to reproduce this behavior.  In this screenshot:

Can you tell me which of those objects are slide elements and which might be slide master elements?  I noticed that the "pause" and "rewind" tabs didn't shift like the Next and the other slide elements did.

If you can share your .story file, that'd be really helpful too.  You can share it privately with my team if you prefer.
