Thanks for asking about this! Removing all the objects from the focus order on a slide will keep them from being read. Here's a Peek video on removing objects from the focus order! The screen reader will read that the slide has appeared on the screen but not any of the objects on the slide.

As I understand it, screen readers will not read object that is not part of the focus order. I haven't tested it, but you can read more here:
