Are you experiencing difficulty with navigating via screen reader? Switching modes is a feature of the screen reader and not a part of the Articulate software.
Thank you so much! For #3, yes it's a question about the screen readers themselves. Was just hoping someone on here may have the answer since I haven't been able to find it elsewhere.
Are you having difficulty with NVDA or JAWS when viewing a Storyline project? I may be able to help you with that.
Otherwise, I'd recommend following up with NVDA or Freedom Scientific (JAWS) to understand the functionality or diagnose any roadblocks you are experiencing.
Learners use their screen reader navigation keys (e.g., Down and Up arrows) to move through all text and interactive objects on the slide, listening to each item along the way.
Does anyone have new issues with NVDA not switching automatically with a published file? (or review) I have to manually switch between browse and focus to use tab accessibility AND sr accessibility.
Does anyone have an issue with the NVDA reading text on a slide while the audio is playing? For example- the screen reader is still describing the slide - "Slide 1-Title ...." and the narrator is speaking the introduction as well. Do I need to make the text on the slide as Decorative or delay the narration or is there something that the person using the screen reader can do to prevent this duplication? Thank you.

Hi Grace,
Storyline 360 courses work with the latest versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack in our supported browsers.

I understand, Grace.
NVDA and JAWS will both work to automatically switch between Browse and Focus modes, but the user can toggle them using Insert + Space Bar.
Hmm "Insert + Space Bar" doesn't seem to be doing anything for me in either NVDA or JAWS...

Yes, I can't get either JAWS or NVDA to read text, but rather only other "shapes" or elements with alt text added.
I can help with that, Grace.

Thank you, Leslie! Learning that simple fact answers several questions for me.
