Screen Recording Test Mode Steps Help

Jul 31, 2012

I have two issues with the screen recording test mode I need help with.

  1. How do I change the font size once it is produced and inserted in my course? The font is so large that during playback a scroll bar appears to the right of the field I'm entering data.
  2. In the field I'm entering data, I am required to press enter. This is not how the software works (SAP) that I recorded. I need to be able to enter data in the field and then mouse to the next field. Pressing enter in this field in SAP results in an attempt to process the data.

Hi Michele and welcome to Heroes!

I looked into Marty's old case, and found that our team shared the following responses:

1) I was not able to replicate the issue with the scrollbars but if you would like to change the font of your text entry fields, you can select it and on the Home menu, it will give you the option to change the font type and size under the "font" section.

2) You can set a hot spot to trigger the next slide so that your user does not have to press "Enter" on their keyboard. I made a screencast for you to show how to do this:

I'm not sure if those will assist you, but if not can you explain a bit more about what you're looking to do?

Amy G.

I am having some different problems with a test mode screen recording. I have steps that include double-clicking, and the interaction is submitted on double-click. So if the learner incorrectly single--clicks, which is something I would be testing, the interaction isn't submitting and no feedback shows. So they have to double-click on an incorrect area to get incorrect feedback.

Same with right-clicking.

Is there any way around this? I would like feedback to show if they don't double-click or right-click a certain area.

Kind of the same thing with pressing Enter. There is a screen where they enter text can then can either press Enter or click buttons.

The test mode doesn't seem to work so well, and I have many tests to create. I could have a trigger to show a layer if they click anywhere outside a hotspot, but that doesn't really fix the issue adequately.

Thanks.

Amy

Hi Amy,

I was just testing this out - and my initial trigger I think was similar to yours, that the interaction would be submitted when the user double clicked on the hotspot. Since they could doubleclick anywhere else - but that wouldn't count as submission, they'd never see the feedback. Instead of setting the trigger to submit when the click on the hotspot if you set it to submit when the double click anywhere on the slide - it works and provides me the incorrect feedback and ability to try again.

In regards to your second question about it not working while viewing the published output, we recommend viewing the published output within the intended environment, as testing it locally could cause elements or features within your content to fail.
