Set a trigger after course re-entry

Aug 20, 2020

I have a course that has bookmarking enabled (when you re-enter, it asks you to resume or restart the course). Is there a way to set a trigger immediately after the bookmarking question? Regardless of what slide they are one, when they re-enter the course I want to set a consistent trigger. Is there a way to do this?

I had a course with different content for different groups.  At the beginning of the course there was a lightbox slide that let the learner choose a group and assigned a preset value to a text variable.  The content flowed based upon that variable.  I used the Master Slide to call the lightbox if the variable was equal to "blank".  Since it was on the Master, it didn't matter if the learner left and then returned later.  The lightbox would display if the variable had not been defined.  It also helped with testing.

If this is not what you're looking for, define what you want the trigger to do.

Thanks, Garth. It sounds like I'm trying to do something pretty similar. I am trying to set some variables through JavaScript. We do this at the start of the course through an Execute JavaScript trigger. If someone leaves and comes back, the variables get reset to the default. I'll look into putting the Execute Javascript trigger on the Master slide and checking if the variables are "blank".
