setting variable to true when drag and drop box is correct - storyline 2
May 19, 2015
Hi Everyone,
I'm using a drag and drop box and a list of choices. There is no particular order for the choices but when all correct choices have been dragged into the drop box I want to enable the "next" button. I don't want to use the submit button, instead, when an incorrect choice is dragged over, it returns to the start point. Here are the things I've already done.
Created the freeform drop box and tested it (The correct layer pops up when I submit with correct choices - 6 choices with 4 correct ones).
Disabled "next" button
Disabled "submit" button
Created a variable and set it to false at the beginning of the timeline.
Created a trigger to enable the "next" button when the variable comes true
The problem is I can't figure out how to change the variable to true if/when the user drags and drops all the correct choices.
Been looking around the forum but can't find anything.
Thanks for the help.

What I do is add a trigger on the correct layer that enables the button.
This way you won't need to use variables.
Can this be used if I'm not using the correct layer (it never appears - intentionally) since incorrect selections are bounced back to their original location?
If you don't have a correct layer then you could setup a trigger like the following.
But, you will need to create a variable for each correct answer and a trigger for each drop.
When you submit you can then enable the next button on the condition that each variable is equal to true.
Hi Hoan,
It looks like Gary has you covered here - and there is more information here on how to hide/disable the next button within Storyline 2.
