Show and Hide Next Button
Apr 19, 2016
Hi there,
My question may have an obvious answer, but I can't find it ... :)
It is about hiding the Next button in the beginning of a slide and then having it back to Normal state but only when the user has visited the three (or more) layers of the slide.
I know I can do that easily with variables but wouldn't like to clutter my project with variables for such routine things.
So, I change the state of the Next button to Hidden when the timeline starts, and then?..
Would anyone have an idea how this can be done without variable?
Thank you so much in advance.
Bobby

Hi Bobby,
Change state of Next button to normal, when state of All button is visited.
Is the user clicking a button to view the layers or are the layers being driven by the timeline?
Make a trigger that says, "change the state of the next button to normal when the State of [whatever your triggers are that show the layers] is equal to Visited. You can select all of the trigger (buttons, I'm assuming) or any combination.
Hi Ravindra,
Thank you for that prompt suggestion. The thing is that the "button" is actually a Group of picture and text. I guess then I should just assign show layer trigger to the picture and not to the group?
Hi Wendi
It is a group (picture and text) that is the "button" which shows the layer.
Thank you Brett
I replied to the other suggestions. Please have a look
Hi Bobby,
Can you share your story file please? if possible.
It is too big and would take time to cut it so I leave only the relevant part, but my point is that a group cannot have states. So I suppose I just need to use the picture as the click trigger to open the layer...

This might help you.
Put objects offstage and trigger a state change when the user clicks each group. Then trigger the next button to normal when state of the offstage objects are visited.
put these triggers before the 'show layer' triggers
Hey Ravindra
Thank you so much for that. It should do it.
Hey Wendi, this is also a solution
Thank you so much !
