Show layer at randam
Dec 06, 2013
Does anyone know how i can show a particualar layer at a random point. i.e. I have a layer that has 20 objects each of different values 100, 200 etc. When a user clicks an object they are presented with a runing score. I would like to set up the storyline to present the user with a different layer when they click one of the 20 objects but i dont want it to be based on their score i.e. grater that 500 show layer. I would like that layer to be presented when they click one of the objects at random. Not sure if it is possible. Any help would be appreciated.

I am no expert, but I would think you could generate a random number within a range using java and save that as a variable. Then, based on the random number, reveal an associated layer.
Hmm...first thanks for the quick reply :o) Java is not one of my knowledge areas though so i'm not sure where to start.
Hi Chris,
There is a Javascript best practices example that includes at the very bottom a random number generator.
Awsome! Thanks you for the help...i'll give it a go.

Happy to help Chris.
Thanks for finding that so quickly Ashley. I knew I had seen it previously but wasn't locating it with much success now.
