Show Layer trigger for Likert Scale

Aug 18, 2020

Hi,

I've created a Likert Scale and want require the learner to complete it before they can progress. After they complete it I want to show a feedback layer (I don't care about scoring, I just want to show the feedback).

I created two triggers:

Show Layer Feedback When User Clicks Submit

and

Submit Likert When User Click Submit

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm using Storyline 360 and Review 360.

Thanks!

Hi Sam,

Thank you! I've imported the slide into a separate file. Here's the weird thing. In the attached file it seems to work fine, both in Preview mode and on Review360. However, in my larger file it works in Preview mode but on Review 360 when I click Submit I go to the next page (I want to Show Layer when I click Submit).

Hi Kelly and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I'm not sure if Sam is still subscribed here, but we'd be happy to help you with your project as well.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your .story project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

Hi Kelly, I don't have the video but here's what I think I did to resolve:

1. Removed the trigger Show Layer Feedback When User Clicks Submit.

2. In the Form View, change the Feedback setting in the top ribbon from None to By Question. This creates a new layer called Thank You. This layer is preformatted.

3. Delete this Thank You layer (unless you want to use it).

4. If you prefer to have custom feedback, change the name of your custom feedback layer to Thank You.

I think that's it? If it doesn't accomplish your goal let me know and I can look at it further.

Thanks!
