I've been a Storyline user for years, but this is the first time I've come across this issue. I have three slide layers that I want to align (the green checkmarks), but alas I cannot select them like I can objects on the base layer. Is this simply not possible, or is there a workaround?
In S2, if you click to show all three layers, it should snap to the other layers. Otherwise you have a few other options:
1. You can cut them and put them on one layer, align them as you want, then cut and paste them back to their appropriate layers.
2. Right click > Size and Position > Position tab - note their exact position on the slide and amend the others. You can leave this dialog box open while moving between layers and objects
3. I notice you have guides showing, use those to help you aligned. You can drag them where you want them. Hold Alt to get a really precise location.
Thanks Leslie. I appreciate the time you took to illustrate the snap to guide behavior. It's certainly the only technique that works for me and is what I was doing.
What I was hopeful of was that I could select all of my layers and align them all at once the way you can with individual objects on the base layer, but that doesn't seem to be functionality that Articulate has built in (at least yet!...it would certainly be a helpful productivity feature!)
Thanks for sharing your idea, Mike! Our product team is always keen to hear about customer needs, so I can certainly pass along your suggestion. And feel free to share any other ideas you have here: Feature Request Form.

Hi Mike,
Which version of SL are you using?

Hope one of those helps!

Thanks for the quick response Len. I'm working in SL3. Can you explain what you mean by click to show all 3 layers and the snap behavior?
Hey Mike!
I cannot speak for Len here, but it does sound like a great idea.
I recorded a quick Peek here for you if you'd like to take a look and my sample file is attached as well.
Hope that helps :)
