Slide Layer Properties Will Not Allow Deselect of Prevent from clicking Other Layers

May 11, 2023

I was wondering if anyone else was having an issue with slide layer properties. I clicked "Present as" and changed it to Dialog because it was new and that is what I do. It changed ALL of my slide layers to Dialog!

Now, while I can change the behavior back to Layer, the checkmark in the Prevent from clicking other layers option will not go away. It APPEARS to, but when I close the properties window and reopen it, it always comes back. The only way to get past that is to create a new layer and move the contents from the old layer to the new one. My course has LOTS of layers. Attached is the storyline file and an image of the slide layer properties settings.

Hi Glenda,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this behavior.

I tried replicating the behavior on my end, but I was able to observe that change the properties of one slide layer did not affect the settings of others. I've attached a video of the results of my testing.

Since the behavior appears to be isolated to your installation, try doing a repair of your Storyline 360 installation. If the issue persists, open a case with our support team here for further assistance.

Hi Glenda,

Thanks for the follow-up question! I understand the "Prevent from clicking other layers" remains checked when you return to the Slide Layer Properties after unchecking the box. I'd be happy to work with you to figure out why this is happening.

After testing your file with the steps you provided, I was not able to reproduce the behavior. I would try doing a repair of your Storyline 360 installation. If the issue persists, open a case with our support team here for further assistance.
