I have videos in slide layers, after publishing the videos don't auto play correctly in Chrome. Some are delayed and start playing the audio over the top of different layers so there are two lots of audio playing, sometimes they start to play but with no audio.
I have made sure I am on the latest update of Storyline 2. Is this a known issue, is there something I can do to make it play correctly?
Apologies just saw this reply. I published for LMS and uploaded it as a zip into my Accord LMS and found the issue, then I published for Web to test it that way and had the same issues.
I tested in IE 11 and Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94 it worked in IE in both published formats but not in Chrome.
This is a bit of an issue as I produce training for software and we recommend Chrome to run our software so don't want to have to advise learners to use a different browser to run the courses.
Thanks for those details, Vicki. I've tried recreating this issue in a sample Storyline 2 file, but I still need your help. Would you mind sharing your file with me for testing? Even just the one troublesome slide will do.
If you'd rather not share it publicly, you can also click here to send it to our team privately. Thanks!
It looks like Vicki's issue was with Storyline 2 and something we reported to our team as a possible software bug, based on how Videos on a layer do not play automatically on HTML5 output. Does that match what you're experiencing?
If not, can you share a bit more about your course and the set up?
1) In timeline, video should not begin in the zeroth second. Instead it should begin one sec later atleast. It worked for me.
2) If you are adding video in first slide then video won't play automatically in chrome. It needs some user interaction. Just add a button in first slide and move your video to second slide. Add a trigger on the button so that clicking on the button takes the user to the second slide.

Hi Vicki, I'm happy to help!
You mentioned this happens after you publish the file--did you publish for LMS or Web?
Also, where did you upload the output file after you published, and what web browser did you use for testing?

Thanks Alyssa, I have pulled out the two affected slides and sent them to the support team.
Thanks Vicki :) You should be hearing from someone soon.
Hi did anyone have an update on this? Having a similar issue with Chrome. Thanks

Hello people. I have a solution for this.
