Slide Layers Changing Appearance When Pulled From Template

Feb 18, 2021

Hi all,

I've built out several activities in a .story file that I've finalized and am now saving into a template (.storytemplate format). While the slide layers look perfectly fine when I go into the .storytemplate file, for whatever reason, when I create a new project and try to pull in slides from this template, the slide layers that serve up correct, incorrect, try again are suddenly using a grayed-out font rather than the dark one I have applied in the template file. While I realize I have the ability to circle back and manually adjust all of the font color to what I originally had in my template, I'm not sure why this is happening in the first place. Why aren't the slide layers on my template slides coming into my new projects exactly as they were saved? I've attached a screencap of how a layer looks in the template and then how that same layer appears once I've pulled the slide into a new project from said template. Any insights/advice would be much appreciated!

Hello Jessica!

Thank you so much for sharing those screenshots! I see how there is a difference between the feedback layers. It would be best to look at your .story file to confirm what is causing the snag.

Would you mind sharing your .story file with our team in a support case? This will make sure that we can work with you directly to find the fix.

Hi Jessica!

I wanted to update this discussion to share that we no longer see this issue where the color format on the Feedback Master of the story template changes when imported to a slide via Slides > My Templates when using the latest version of Storyline 360, Build 3.61.27106.0.

If you or others are experiencing any additional issues using the latest update, don't hesitate to contact our support team directly.
