I have been working on an elearning course and in spite of ensuring the 'Slide advances by user' and putting the trigger 'Jump to next slide when user clicks next button' on each slide the slide proceeds on its own. Have I done something silly?
Okay, 2 places to look. On the storyview what is the slide set for there? Is it different on this view when you click the slide properties icon (the small gear icon to the right of the base layer)?
Okay, that's bizzare. Like you said; I don't see anything from these screen shots that would indicate you did anything "silly".
One other thing you can try, is to recreate that first slide and have it "jump to slide 1.2" when the user clicks. See if it works correctly then. This seems like a strange quirk.
Thank you for looking into it. Its really weird!! I have even tried changing the trigger to 'Jump to slide 1.2' instead of Next. But it still seems to run from one slide to another like a pin pricked bull :( :( !!!
I connected with one of my colleagues and he found the culprit! Some how the imported PowerPoint that was used to develop the template carried forward the in-built trigger of 'Proceed automatically'.
I went to the slide master and got them deleted and now I have tamed it.

Can you share a picture of what your screen looks like?

If you are able to share the file, I'd be happy to look at it directly as well.
