Slides advancing automatically after inserting audio

Aug 11, 2021

My scene was working perfectly, waiting until 'next' was selected, but now that I've inserted audio on the slides, they advance to the next slide automatically.  I can't see a trigger that's causing this, and there are no triggers set on the slide masters...

What am I doing wrong?

Hello Jen, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing. I'm glad that David was able to pop in with another idea of what to check.

Do you know what version of Storyline you're using?

  • You can check by going to Help > About Articulate Storyline

We are currently on Build 3.54.25674.0 of Storyline 360, which did include a couple of fixes specific to a trigger being added to advance slide at the end of the timeline that was only visible in StoryView.  You can read all of the details here.

Hi Leslie, I'm definitely using build 3.54.25674.0.  The auto-advance only changed for those to which I added audio.  I didn't think to check Story View as I'd already set them, and I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what I'd done!

I'll have to watch out for that when adding to other slides.

Hi Jen,

This is a bit different than the reports we had earlier and as I mentioned, we corrected them. Since you're on the latest update and experiencing an issue, I'd love for our team to take a closer look.

I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening with your permission. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
