SOS! Somebody HELP!
Apr 28, 2017
Hello Heros,
I have been working on a very huge project for months now in SL2 and I am currently synchronising the voice over (Module 12 of 16). I worked on this project on 27/04/2017 and on 28/04/2017 I opened it to continue my synchronisation and i got this error message
This project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of storyline.
Please how can i get it opened? It is really urgent

Oh no! That's never a good message to see. Here's a quick Peek at how to find your temp files on Windows.
File corruption can happen, even in the best software, and even if you’re following all the recommended best practices. To be ready if it happens, follow these tips.
^ This. Saved me yesterday... Had a file that Storyline 360 kept reporting was locked, even though Process Explorer showed absolutely zero hooks in the file. Found the day old .tmp file, renamed it...BOOM... back in business.
I love hearing success stories like that. You may not always be able to find a temp file for your project, but when you do, it's a huge win!
I am in the habit of saving a version of my file at the end of each work session - usually once a day. That way, if something goes awry, I've "only" lost one day of work - at the most. Once the project is complete, you can delete the old files if you need to.
There should be a write up of these steps in the Knowledge Base. It seems as if this has cropped up a number of times recently for people and it would've been nice to find it there rather than having to follow threads to get the solution.
Thanks for that suggestion, Matt. I'll pass it along!
