Sound for a single slide

Oct 01, 2012

Hello,

I have created a Simulation in Storyline and have created some voice recordings for individual slides. The only way I can get the audio to run is when I scroll over the text field they will be entering information into on that slide. How do I go about creating a hint key that appears when the slide comes up so they can click it if they do not know where to go to next? I was able to create a button but that too only appears when I scroll over the text field. I know it has to do with layers but I have not been able to fix it.

1. I love to use markers (insert>marker) for hints because they're small at first but expand on click.  There's a question mark marker that's perfect for this!  You'll want to be consistent with your hints or explain hints in the beginning to avoid having another ui element to confuse the user.

2.  How would you like the audio to work as opposed to the way you've been able to make it work.  That may help me understand it a bit more as I'm a little confused by your post.  Or, maybe I just need more description of what's happening.  Are you adding elements to layers that aren't the base layer, and it only shows that layer when you hover over the text field?  You could also post the project and we could take a looksee.
