Spell check displays a large red X instead of the text

We have a course that we've upgraded from Storyline 1 to Storyline 2. When we try to do a spell check, the dialog box looks like this.

Spell check oddity

It does this throughout the entire spell check. Any ideas what is happening?

Hi Cindy,

I have not seen that before within the spell check section, although when I've see it on a slide before it typically indicates an element of corruption within the file. You'll want to confirm you're working locally and then if the behavior continues on all your files, even a brand new file I'd suggest going through the repair steps here.
