Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to allow learners to print all the slides for an entire course using a print button?

The client would like learners to bring the prerequisite elearning content to the in class training.

Thanks!

Hey Stacey,

I don't know of any easy way to do this but I can think of a few workarounds. There is a way for the creator to make a print friendly word document of the course by pressing File and then Print.  This will create a word doc with the slides on it. Choose large for the screenshot size otherwise they are fairly small. You can then re-size them by dragging the corner to the size you want then without losing too much quality. I would save this as a PDF once your finished so it maintains it's formatting and is easy for learners to print.

From there you can either add the PDF as a resource or as a hyperlink. If it's a resource it will show up in the top right corner by clicking the paperclip. They would have to download the file then and print it. Otherwise you can put a link to the file right on the slide and it will open up the PDF in a new tab and they can print it out from there. I think it would be smoother for the learner as a hyperlink but I understand if the client doesn't want to take up space on the slide for a hyperlink to the printable version. Here are instructions for both ways.

To add it as a Resource:
To do this click on the Home Tab and then on Player. This will bring up the Player settings. Select Resources and then click in the box to add the PDF. It will bring up a prompt and you can name the file and then select the File option and browse your computer for the PDF. Once it's added you can press OK and publish out your Storyline project. Now when the learner opens the session they can click on the Paperclip in the top right corner and download the PDF. From there they can print it. You may need to have instructions for them either on the first slide or prior to them opening the presentation.

Add it as a Hyperlink:
To make a Hyperlink on a slide all you have to do is insert a text box, highlight the text you type and right click. From there you can choose Hyperlink. Then browse for the file and select it. Leave the When drop down at User Clicks.

Let me know if either of these methods work for you or if you're looking for something a little different.
