States not retaining state on slide revisit

Nov 24, 2020

I have created an interaction that uses lightboxes primarily to present questions and content. However, there is one instance when the user is able to navigate from the base "enhancement slide" to a previous instruction slide. When they return the states of objects, which were changed based upon a change in a variable, are returned to their normal state. I am new to articulate, but is there a setting I can check to ensure the objects retain their state?

Hi Devin,

Thank you for reaching out!

Would you be comfortable sharing your file? The reason I ask is it would help to see what is taking place, which would help determine the best next steps here.

Hi Devin,

Thanks for sharing that file; I love the retro look and sound effects! To keep your states as is, you'll want to adjust the Slide Properties for your Enhancements slide to Resume saved state upon revisiting.

Since your interactives are on layers and lightbox slides, the default setting of Automatically Decide on your base layer won't recognize the changes. This user guide below shares more on that. Give it a try and let me know if that helped!
