Storyline 1 to Storyline 2 Migration Issue

Hi Shannan,

I know there were a few changes from SL1 to SL2 in regards to animation, but mostly focused on things such as a change in duration and timing - not that they'd disappear or misbehave entirely. I think we'd need to take a look at your SL1 file and then see what occurs when upgrading it ourselves. You're welcome to share the .story file here or even just a snippet of it. 

Here is the file with without the links added. Each square icon links to an activity. Each rectangle links to a layer that has just activites for that chapter on it. That is where the icons disappear when the file is converted to SL2. If I remove the animation the icons appear but then they disappear quickly. I have played with settings and can't figure out what is causing the transition. Any help would be appreicated. Thank you, Shannan

Thanks for sharing the file here. It seems they behave oddly in SL1 too? I watch them kind of fly in from the right and bounce back to center. I changed one of them to fly in from the Right - and that one worked normally. So it seems like something is off originally in the SL1 file. Can you confirm that you're working on local project files as described here? 

They work fine for me in SL1. They move to the left then back to the right and hold on the screen. Sort of looks like a reshuffiling of a deck. The problem with SL2 is that they move so quickly you can't see the shuffle and they disappear. If you remove the animation you see the movement but the icons still don't stay on the page.  In SL1 they stay on the page so that people can select an activity.

I just wanted to show you what I'm seeing within your SL1 file to try and figure out what you'd like to happen. I recorded a video of it here. Please let me know if you're seeing something different. 

Thanks for the video. We are seeing the same thing. It works for me exactly the way the video displays. I don't really need them to fly left then come back right. I thought it was part of the animation. The important thing is that when we update to SL2 that the icons still show so that they may be selected. Thanks again for all your help!

Nope, that is unexpected based on the fly in from left set up. They should just fly in and stop - but yours seem to initially fly in from the right and then bounce back to center once they've hit the left end, which makes me feel like the file itself is problematic. I just tried to recreate a similar set up in SL1 using the fly in from left animation and then upgraded the file to SL2, and the icons remained and the fly in animation worked as expected. What I'd suggest next, is try to rebuild one of those layers in SL1 to see if that solves the overall problem with the slide and allows you upgrade it successfully to SL2.
