Storyline 2 - help with Next Button/Variable issue
Apr 18, 2017
Hi,
I am creating a page that has 3 objects to click on. After the user clicks all 3, then I want the Next Button to appear. I also want the Next Button to appear when user revisits the page. So, I have attached the 3 triggers I have in place right now for this.
- Disable Next Button when timeline starts - that works fine
- Adjust variable (Slide15Viewed) to True when timeline starts
- Change state of Next Button to Normal when all 3 objects are clicked
I believe the issue is that each object takes the user to a new slide layer. So when they close out of that layer and the base layer shows again, the timeline doesn't restart (I don't want to have the same audio starting over and over after each object is clicked). So the "Timeline starts" I think should be changed. What I really want to happen is for the Next Button to appear when all 3 objects are clicked (Not when Timeline starts though since the timeline picks up where it left off after each layer is closed. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Jen

Hi Jen
can you share the .story file - might be easier if people can see the setup and the order of your triggers and slide properties.
Hello Jen
Please see if the attached sample can help you in any way. I have used the variable to add the condition. However, you can also add the condition on button states.
So I have to create a custom Next Button to make this work? This file is helpful! Thank you so much for your help!
