It's possible that your exceeding the suspend data limit in the LMS which could interfere with the resume function. Have a look at the linked article for more information.
Can you test your course in SCORM Cloud and see how the resume function works, and if you still freeze on the particular slide?
If you'd like to share your .story file, I'm happy to publish and test it on my end, too!
Thanks for getting back to me. I am checking with our LMS team to see if the data limit might be an issue. It is not a very large course and it had been working in previous versions so I'll see what they come back with.
Everyone who is getting stuck (from what we can tell) was using IE as their preferred browser. Are there any issues with IE vs Firefox or Chrome? Microsoft Edge is our default browser and that seems to work fine.
I did download a trial version of Articulate 360 and that seemed to fix the resume issue. One question: Can I open an Articulate 360 course in Storyline 3? Or save it as a SL3 course?
Hi there, Tanya. Thanks for the update! I'm going to do a little research about IE being the common thread in the resume function not working in the SL3 version of your course.
To answer your last question: Storyline 360 projects can be opened and edited with Storyline 3 except when they include new features that exist only in Storyline 360. You can remove those features in 360 and then attempt to open the project in Storyline 3. If you have any issues with that, please let us help!
Storyline 3 projects can always be opened and edited with Storyline 360.
Thank you-I think I figured it out and the resume button is working. And, no more complaints with the course hanging at the same spot. Perhaps it was a glitch in the SL3 file that was resolved in A360. Thanks again!

Hi again, Tanya. Just to follow up with you: I did a quick mock-up course in SL3, and I was able to get my resume prompt to work in HTML5 output.
Here's my example (you can sign in with a fake email if you want). If you close the course early and relaunch, it should prompt you to resume.
Are you able to share your .story file with me? I'm happy to test it out as well.

Glad you got it sorted, Tanya! Thanks for the update. 😁
