Storyline 3 Mobile Player Color

Apr 28, 2017

I just upgraded a course from Storyline 2 to Storyline 3 and am using the default player color, but it looks different in previews than it does on an actual mobile device. When I preview the mobile device player on my desktop, the Prev/Next/Submit buttons are clearly labeled in a white font that contrasts nicely with the background. But when I view the course on an iPad, the button labels are the same grey color as the background and are offset by a white shadow. They are not very legible. Has anyone else had this experience? Is there a way to solve it, or another player color that has better contrast?

Hi Adrienne,

Thanks for letting us know what's going on. Can you share your project file with me?  If you'd like to keep it private, use this form instead.

Also, these details would be helpful:

  • Did you publish for Web or LMS?
  • Did you check the "Use Articulate Mobile Player for iOS and Android" option in the Publish Formats window?
  • Where is the published content hosted?
  • What iOS version is on your iPad, and what browser did you use?

Thanks Alyssa! I've sent the file using the private form.

As for the other questions:

  • It's published for LMS.
  • I didn't check "use Articulate mobile player"-- I don't think it works with our LMS.
  • We work with a separate company that publishes our courses and handles our LMS. If you need more specific information, I'll have to ask them.
  • My iPad uses iOS 10.2.1 and I viewed the course in Safari.
