Storyline 3 Problem - Drag and Drop is always correct after revisting slide.

Dec 15, 2017

Hello everybody,

as a mostly silent reader, this is my first post/question here. I've got a course with the following problem (to keep it simple i reproduced it quick and dirty in the attached file):

I've got a Drag and Drop Freeform where I have one drop and five drags. To finish the task correctly you have to put all five drags onto the drop. If you do so (confirm with the OK-Button), go to the next page and immediately revisit the page with the freeform, everything will be resetted. At least that's what you think. If then you put only the first drag onto the drop and submit the question, it will be correct, which is wrong.

So here's my question. Is there anyone out there who already has some experience with such behaviour. I already thought about a JavaScript Solution but I'm not sure how to access the internal variables which Articulate uses to track the freeform questions (e.g. amount of tries and stuff).

All the best and I really appreciate your help with this

Hi Tyll,

Thanks for sharing your file here with us - always help!

This is a bug we reported to our team recently, so I'll include your post as a part of that report. Once I have any info/updates to share I'll post here so that you're notified.

Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. Here's more information on how we identify and tackle bugs.

I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m so sorry it's slowing you down!

Hi there, Tyll!

To follow up on Ashley's post – I'm excited to note that we just released update 3 for Storyline 3! You can view all the new features and fixes here.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where freeform drag and drop would mark incorrectly on the second attempt.

Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let us know if you have any questions!
