Anyone having this problem? I never have this problem but of course now that I need to work remotely - bingo. I put the captions into my video and then click Save and Close, but nothing displays in the timeline and if published the captions don't display. They don't display in preview. Yes, I have clicked the Player box for captions. What is going on? I'm up to date, and I rebooted. I'm so frustrated!!! Need to get this work done!
Thanks for reaching out, and great call to open a case! I see you've been working with my teammate, Georvy, and he was able to have closed captions in the file successfully.
Ensure you go through all the steps to repair Storyline and keep at it with him so he can get you up and running again!
I'm also working remotely and attempting to use captions. They don't display in preview or once published. Could you share the steps to repair Storyline as mentioned above?
Mary, they told me to uninstall it, reboot and reinstall which I did - nothing changed, it still is not functioning. To be clear @RenGomez, this isn't my first time at the rodeo. I've been using Storyline 360 for a couple of years, and have had no problem with this feature to date. Mary, we were given a second set of instructions that I will try to do this afternoon. It's tough; as most of us in the country are remote right now, my IT department is not just down the hall and I need their permissions in order to change anything - including reinstalling the software. I've copied and pasted the instructions I received from Storyline below if it helps. I'll let you know if that works.
Hello Susan,
Thank you for sharing the recording of what you're experiencing and for sharing your project (.story) file.
I tested your project and was able to successfully have the closed caption show up on the slide as seen here:
Susan, my teammate who is on the Portal tested it for me and it worked for him, even though the captions don't display for me (working remotely). So if you can have someone test it who may be in the office, it may be working correctly but you can't see it.

Hi Susan?
Are you comfortable on sharing your file so I can probably take a look on what could have possibly gone wrong on your project file?
I have attached a video that I have found on Youtube that has helped me in creating captions on a video in Storyline.

Yes, please try rebooting your machine first to see if this will work.
