I'm running the latest version of Storyline 360 using Parallels 14 (latest version) on a Mac. I can import from PowerPoint, publish to web, but when I try to publish to Word it just grays out the boxes and does nothing till I force quit the program.
So I found the issue. I had to open Storyline and move way off screen. Click publish, move that window towards end of screen then click to publish to Word. There is a window that pops up asking if Word should be the default program. Clicked yes and published.
I have the file saved on the desktop of the windows side of my mac and tried to publish back to that file.
I have pulled my hair out and cursed
Any other ideas?
I suspect my challenge is that my setting default for WORD is not correct. Does it publish with .doc something else? Does it have to go to WORD or can it be Microsoft Word?
Thanks for also opening a case – you're in good hands with Lianne!
Since you mentioned using a Mac, I wanted to double-check your setup. Do you have Microsoft Word installed on your Windows virtual machine? Or is Microsoft Word only installed on the Mac side?
Alyssa, Yes, WORD is installed on my Parallels VM. I have wondered if It is not set default to the correct version of WORD. I have tried to remove all copies of WORD except one, but am not sure I have been successful.
I shared this update with Lianne in your case. I'm also curious to know what version of Word you're using? Let us know, and if you have any questions about her recent email!
By the way, it looks like you may have replied by email where your contact information came through to the public forums. Feel free to edit your reply here!

Ah, good catch Stephen. Glad you were able to find that and publish as expected.
I appreciate you popping back in to share with the community.
I clicked YES and it didn't work. Can I get help?

HOORAY!
I have figured it out! I work on a mac and run storyline on Parallels VM.
I had been trying to Publish to folder "This PC> Desktop", but that didn't work. I had to actually choose the folder "This PC > Local Disk (C:)"
Thanks for all your help.

Excellent detective work, Debra!
