Storyline 360: how to make a shape suddenly disappear

I am setting up a reflected wave animation. Beginning storyline user here.

I have an origination point for the wave (an arc shape) and an object for it to bounce off of.

I have a motion path for the wave from origination point to the object where the movement ends (the front edge of the wave is touching the object).

I now need to make the wave disappear instantly as it touches the object.

I was thinking of creating a second wave (reflective) for the return trip to the origin. Start at the same exact point as the origination wave hitting the object. I also want to have the wave fade out (fade out exit animation) as it returns because the object absorbs most of the wave energy,
