Storyline Adding HUGE Amounts of Time When Copying and Pasting Groups

Jul 08, 2016

Storyline for some reason is automatically adding huge amounts of time to my timeline when I try copying and pasting a group over from one project to another. I have never had this happen before... I understand that if the timing from one project is longer than the one you're pasting to, then it will add the original timing from the object or group- however, it is adding on 2,000+ seconds! Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue? I can just copy and paste the individual objects in the group over to the other project but was wondering if this is a glitch in the program. In the past I'm pretty sure I've been able to copy and paste whole groups from project to project without it adding on 2,000+ seconds to the timeline...

Groups are glitchy in my experience and I try to avoid using them if possible.

Does the same thing happen if you copy and paste a group from one slide to another slide in the same project? If not then you may want to try importing the slide with the group to you new project (into a disposable scene that you delete later) and THEN copying and pasting the group.

Spontaneous creativity on the part of the timeline is a well established phenomenon. It may help you to avoid it if you import slides, rather than copy and paste objects.

Copy and paste can lead to some spectacular events in SL :) For a good time, try copying and pasting built-in buttons- WARNING: usually, it will completely crash SL.
