Storyline audio editor editing the wrong thing?

Oct 12, 2015

I seem to be having a strange issue where I'm editing (deleting or making silent) the end of audio that's been recorded in Storyline. I'll make the edit, and Storyline inserts the edit into the middle of the audio. Does that make sense? For instance, I'll select the last 1 1/2 seconds of my audio, click "Silent" and instead of making that selected audio silent, it jumps back 5-10 seconds and inserts the silence into another part of the audio. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a workaround?

Hi Lisa,

I just tested this on a Storyline 2 course I had open and wasn't able to replicate the behavior. I'd want to check that you're working on local project files as described here.  If you're still having difficulty, can you share a copy of the .story file here with us (even just that one slide with audio should work)?

Hello,

Yes, I am working on a local file on my hard drive, and I've been editing the audio the way I have always edited the audio. I've taken out the audio unfortunately and will be recording in Audition and inserting into Storyline. I'm on a timeline and don't' want to risk re-recording too late in the game.
