Storyline crashes after recording

How long/large are the screen recordings you're trying to insert? Storyline allows you to record up to two hours for a single recording. However, not all computers are equipped to process such a lengthy video. It's best to record smaller chunks to avoid processing issues and learner fatigue. 

The minimum system requirements for Storyline are detailed here,  so you look fine on that front. You'll also want to confirm that you're working locally to prevent any odd behavior.
