Storyline for live presentations?

Jun 12, 2012

Hi

I wondered if anyone has any experience of using Storyline output for "live" presentations. I've just produced a small presentation for someone - it's for a project meeting, not for training. But it's been a great tool for this, it makes presenting the info easy and looks so much better than straight powerpoint. But I'm struggling with what 'publish' style works best... the presenter is objecting to the blue title bar at the top... but I can't see any way to get rid of it....

Many thanks Phil, that's good!

Yes have republished to 'Web' and it works great in full screen mode in Chrome. It works in IE in full screen too now, F11 in and out, though Chrome seems tidier as if you mouse over the top you get the bar back in IE.

Now all I want is more animation effects, motion paths and formattable bullets (I know bullets are a dirty word, sorry, but they have their place) and I'd be proper happy! ...and would consider changing all our live visuals over to Storyline too....
Any ideas how long that wish list may take to come to fruition??

Sarah,

You can always produce these in PowerPoint (for the moment...), exprt as a .ppt video file, and import into Storyline?

Hi Bruce

Just got my head around this, for lunchtime entertainment, thank you. I'd managed to have the PP file open in an older version so didn't see this option. Now done aok - and I finally twigged that I can crop the video inside of Storyline, that's handy! - I'd been confused about having a full size screen video imported, and had tried resizing the PP slide (a rather backwards way of doing things). So now have it on a layer with a go trigger. This does help for now, cheers.

If you change an object state from hidden to normal then the animation will trigger. Also you can show layers based on key presses or jump to another slider where the animation plays.

As it is not really a presentation tool it is not set up to work like PPT with on click animations without putting in a bit more work, i would stick with PPT for presentations  especially as most places are set up to accept these and Storyline, presi can cause problems.
