Storyline in teacher marketplace for instructional materials

Dec 30, 2021

Hello! I am currently winding down my three month trial period for Articulate and in an instructional design certificate program. As a former music teacher, I am experimenting a little by creating a basic music theory teacher resource/lesson using Storyline. Someone suggested posting it for sale on Teachers Pay Teachers. I am unfamiliar with the publishing process and selling course materials. Does the marketplace Teachers Pay Teachers support Storyline? I am also thinking about accessibility to teachers and use within their classrooms.

Thanks for your help!

SL can produce a webpage (if you publish for the web), or an executable (if you publish for CD), and both of them can be sold on TPT. I would offer either. The executable will require unzipping and installing, while the webpage will require setting up an accessible webpage, both to be done by your purchaser, So you would need to include pretty exact and comprehensive directions.

I am in the process of trying it out, but in testing, I found  that ipads don't always handle everything as they are expected to. Of course, I am working on a pretty complex project, but the point is to be sure you test the project pretty thoroughly, so you can include any necessary caveats.

My project uses a log of dreg and drop, and my tests show that it doesn't play nicely with ipads. So many teachers use ipads that I have put the project on hold until I can re-work it without DnD.

Publishing to the web creates a folder of files, and downloading that folder yields a website that can be downloaded and saved on a computer or ipad that can use a browser to go through the project, so I know that part works. I just don't know if it is Safari or the ipad that breaks after I get a ways into the project. If your tests show that tablets can work with your project, you should be all right.
