Storyline Question

Oct 10, 2012

Hello,

I am working with storyline and I have a question regarding the timeline. The timeline has a line that says End, where the objects stop playing, is there a way to stop that line from shifting if a new object is added in. I want the objects to end at the same time as my audio, but if that End line shifts because of new or moved objects, I have to go back and bring the line back and readjust the objects. Any tips that can help me with my shifting issue? I know we have the lock option for the objects on the timeline, but is there a way to lock the end line?

Thanks in advance,

Malisa

Hi Adrian,

I have audio, text, and images on the timeline, and when I preview it, sometimes it shows the end line has shifted on the timeline. If I play it to review it, I guess if a text object on the timeline already had a specific amount of time to play, and it is moved it will shift the timeline, but is there a way to stop that end time line from moving?

Hi Malisa,

This is the way it works from my experience.

You have a screencast that lasts for say 5 minutes. You have several other objects on the slide. Those objects will adopt the timeline of the screencast and extend/shrink accordingly to match the ending.

The same could be said for any video or audio that is added. These objects have a set time unlike images, shapes, etc. You can extend the timeline for audio or videos but they will still end when they are supposed to.

This looks like what you are experiencing?
