Storyline: Sequence Drag and Drop Question

Nov 25, 2014

Hey there,

Been trying for a couple of hours to solve a certain problem. I'm trying to add audio (and a custom image) to both the "wrong answer" and "right answer" result portions of a Sequence Drag and Drop Interaction.

But nothing seems to be working.

I've gone down to the "edit quiz" area and clicked "more." Then, I've downloaded the necessary audio (one audio under "right answer" and one under "wrong answer" and confirmed it was there.

But when I preview the slide I get no audio at all (whether right or wrong) when I click the "submit" button. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks so much for your help!

Hey Wendy,

Not even sure how to do that, since it's a part of about 200 other slides. But I'm just wondering if I'm missing something, in light of what I mentioned I'm already doing.

Do you know of a Storyline tutorial page that directly addresses how to setup a "Sequence Drag and Drop" Quiz? If so, that might help.

All the best!

Hi Rand

here is the quiz slide in SL1 attached.  Feedback layers are the two layers that are automatically created by SL when you add a quiz slide...the correct layer and incorrect layer...see screenshots below.

Have you removed the default Correct and Incorrect layers and added your own custom ones or are you customising the default layers?

Screenshot 1 - if you add sound here it adds it to the quiz slide not when the learner clicks submit and answers correct or incorrect.

Screenshot 2 - when you create a quiz slide - SL automatically creates Correct and Incorrect feedback layers.  See Slide Layers panel in bottom right.  If you have more than one attempt for the quiz there would also be a Try Again layer.

Screenshot 3 - To add audio to a correct or incorrect layer you can access the layer itself and add the audio directly or from the quiz slide you can select the MORE button at the bottom of the screen next to each layer and add it there by clicking the speaker icon.

I will look to see if there are any tutorials on adding audio to quiz slides.  In the meantime see if any of this helps you
