Storyline speed after update 3

May 29, 2013

Hi there!

I just loaded update #3, and have noticed a definite drop in software speed.   Plus I have an older file that now doesn't want to load properly - won't show images on some slides.

I'm currently using a pretty quick 1 year old HP Pavilion Elite HPE desktop (AMD multi-processor chip) with 8GB of RAM, and have ordered chips to bring it to 16GB.  Am I missing anything?  Are there particular settings that Storyline likes within 64bit Win7?

Love the software, I just want it to scream for me.  Screaming software is good, as I earn my living with this stuff.

Thanks in advance,

Cam

Hey Cam!

Haven't heard any reports of the new update slowing anything down, so maybe a fresh reboot might help? Also, where'd you install it - same place as your previous version?

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Let us know if the slowness persists, and we'll be able to dig a little deeper into why.

Thanks!
